GRADED QUARTZ SAND FOR DECORATIVE SURFACES
Natural quartz sand for terrazzo, decorative stone and resin-bound surface systems.
Product Overview
Changtong quartz sand is processed from selected natural quartz through crushing, cleaning, grading and screening. It is intended for terrazzo, decorative stone and resin-bound surface formulators who need a controlled mineral aggregate with a clean visual appearance and application-specific particle sizing.
The correct grade depends on the design color, layer thickness, resin or cement binder, aggregate blend, surface finish and project test method. This product should be evaluated as a natural quartz sand aggregate, not as fused silica, precipitated silica, fumed silica or cristobalite powder.
Supply Basis and Selection Checkpoints
Typical supply basis — confirm the selected grade, color and test values before production use.
| Item | Changtong supply basis | Project verification |
|---|---|---|
| Material identity | Natural quartz sand for decorative aggregate applications | Confirm natural quartz requirement and binder compatibility |
| Particle size | Graded sizes available by confirmed application requirement | Check sieve range, fines, layer thickness and packing |
| Appearance | Natural quartz visual character; color selection must be confirmed | Approve a physical sample under the final lighting and finish |
| Quality documents | Applicable TDS and batch COA by confirmed grade | Agree chemistry, moisture, packaging and acceptance limits |
Applications for Quartz Sand
Terrazzo Flooring and Slabs
Evaluate the sand with the selected cement or resin binder, pigment, chip blend and polishing sequence to achieve a stable decorative surface.
Decorative Stone Panels
Use the graded aggregate to develop a repeatable visual texture, while confirming color consistency and exposure after curing or polishing.
Resin-Bound Surfaces
Check wetting, coating coverage, particle packing, cure behavior and slip or abrasion requirements in the complete resin system.
A Practical Grade-Selection Workflow
- Define the visual target. Confirm the base color, exposed aggregate effect, gloss level and lighting conditions.
- Match the particle size to the layer. Consider layer thickness, binder viscosity, spread rate, compaction and polishing allowance.
- Test the complete blend. Keep binder, pigment, dosage, mixing time and cure conditions fixed when comparing grades.
- Approve a retained sample. Compare the supplied sand with the approved standard under the final production process.

Request a QuoteFAQ
Is this the same as fused quartz sand?
No. This product is natural quartz sand. Fused quartz sand is an amorphous material with a different production route and application profile.
Can the sand be used in both resin and cement terrazzo?
It may be evaluated in both systems, but the binder, moisture, particle size, surface treatment and curing process must be checked in the customer’s own trial.
What should be included in a quotation request?
Specify the application, color or appearance target, particle-size range, binder type, trial quantity, packaging and destination country.
